Review: Seafood Island
If my lobster's (a.k.a. boyfriend's) comfort food are still-bloody steaks, mine is seafood. I go weak at the knees when I think about prawns and fish and lobsters, and all the yummy, edible things swimming in the oceans. That's why I fell all the more in love with my boyfriend when he took me to Blackbeard's Seafood Island for a boodle fight.
If you're not familiar with Seafood Island, this isn't the place for dates. Their boodle fight meals are for groups, mostly for 5 people and above. But that didn't stop us, oh no siree. We ordered the Tali Beach Boodle Feast, good for at least 4 very hungry construction workers, and we went through it like it was nothing. And it was called a 'Feast' for a reason. It came with chicken inasal, pork barbecue, steamed shrimps, grilled prawns, grilled tilapia, tahong, crab, grilled squids, and tomatoes, mangoes, seaweed, and watermelons on the side. All these, plus enough steamed rice to choke a sumo wrestler.
I am telling you, the staff there watched us eat like we were circus freaks. But who cares about what other people thought, we were eating seafood!
